The strong contender produced the best win of his career last Friday by dominate the hope of France Tony Yoka in Paris.
In the current standings, Yoka is ranked 5th with IBF, a position he is likely to lose, which means Bakole will leapfrog his position at 15th.
“I think that win would put Martin in the top five or six in most of the charts,” Nelson told Sky Sports.
“Going forward, we just want a good name, a win or two more and I’m sure he’ll be in an ideal place to fight for the world title early next year – that’s his plan. plan.”
Bakole mocked Yoka’s reputation and amateur lineage by dropping the Olympic Gold Medal twice within their ten innings.
“Martin will only improve,” added Nelson.
“I think he still has 25% improvement and that’s going to cause a lot of trouble for all the heavyweights in the world.”
