Mariah Carey, The Neptunes and Isley Brothers among honorees inducted into the Composers Hall of Fame

After being delayed for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Composers Hall of Fame inductees are finally being recognized for their legendary contributions to the world of music — and the team includes some of our fans. Mariah Carey, The Neptunes and The Isley Brothers were among the artists honored for their respected pen game and officially inducted into the Writers’ Hall of Fame.

If you’re a true music fan still researching to find out who’s responsible for writing some of the music industry’s biggest hits, the newest artists are inducted into the Great Hall. The Writers’ Fame should come as no surprise. @Billboard reports, Mariah Carey, The Neptunes and The Isley Brothers are now full-fledged members of the exclusive caste and recipients of one of the highest honors in music. Originally slated for June 2020, the official gala for the rollout will take place later today at the Marriott Marquis hotel in New York City.

Other legendary honorees for this year’s Writers’ Hall of Fame include, Annie Lennox & Dave Stewart of Eurythmics; Rick Nowels, who has written songs for artists such as Lana Del Rey, Dua Lipa and John Legend and William “Mickey” Stevenson (who served as A&R executive for Berry Gordy’s iconic Motown label, ) thanks to writing credits recommending chart-topping hits for Marvin Gaye, The Four Tops, and Martha & The Vandellas.

Speaking about the decision to wait for the presentation to take place securely instead of in person instead of virtual, Songwriters Hall Of Fame President and CEO Linda Moran said:

“The gala is finally here after three years. It had such an intense and amazing effect on me that it left me feeling completely overwhelmed and even more amplified, knowing that the gala was expected to be the driving force behind. communities that make and publish music are life after life with COVID. ”

Along with the hall of fame, the organization also announced the Writers Experience, a traveling museum in partnership with the Grammy Museum, celebrating the legacy of musicians, opening June 14.order at the City University of New York (CUNY.) Jimmy Jam, Toby Keith, Carole King, Smokey Robinson, Carole Bayer Sager and Diane Warren were among the featured musicians at the event.
