Man City is ready to ‘sacrifice his life’ to win the title: Guardiola

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said they are ready to “give their lives” in the final game of the season to retain the Premier League title in front of supporters.

City were held to a 2-2 draw against West Ham United in Sunday’s penultimate game, four points ahead of Liverpool, who can close the gap to just one when away against Southampton on Tuesday.

Then, Man City host Aston Villa and Liverpool host Wolverhampton Wanderers on the final day of the campaign.

“Next week our stadium will be sold out, we will give them our lives and they will give it to them, all together,” said Guardiola. “To do that is an incredible privilege, after so many years.

“To have a chance with our guys, win a match to be champion. I’m looking forward to it.”

Guardiola is as happy as the title in the hands of Man City despite being held by West Ham

While City could be crowned champions on Tuesday if Liverpool lose, Guardiola says he is only focused on his own team.

“If they lose or win, it’s up to us, let’s make the most perfect game we can,” added Guardiola.

“Against this Liverpool, you can’t win the league four games ago. You have to fight to the end. The big privilege is to be at home and it’s in our hands.”

Jack Grealish says City are behind Riyad Mahrez, who missed a late penalty against West Ham.

“We would never blame anyone,” Grealish said. “Riyad is the type of personality and that character will hold his head high and be ready to return next week.”
