Man, 34, arrested on suspicion of murder of Olivia Pratt-Korbel | UK News

Merseyside Police say a 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder in connection with the murder of 9-year-old Olivia Pratt-Korbel.

The force said the man remained in custody and was being questioned by detectives.

Meanwhile, a 41-year-old Knowsley man has been arrested on suspicion of aiding an offender and is also being held.

The men were arrested in the Runcorn area in the early hours of Sunday.

Olivia died after being shot at her home in Liverpool’s Dovecot area when a gunman chased a man into the property around 10pm on Monday 22 August.

The cause of death was a gunshot wound to the chest, an autopsy showed.

Her mother Cheryl was also injured.

The shooting happened 15 years after the murder of student Rhys Jones with a gun in Liverpool.

Providing an update, Detective Superintendent and Head of Investigation Mark Kameen said: “I continue to appeal to anyone with information that could help our investigation into the murder. sorry for Olivia, please bring it up so we can bring those responsible to justice.

“Several people have been arrested in connection with this investigation. However, we still need the public’s help in ensuring that we can build a solid picture of evidence so that justice is served. cater to Olivia and her family.

A 36-year-old Huyton man and a 33-year-old Dovecot man have been arrested on suspicion of murder and two counts of attempted murder in connection with Olivia’s death have been released on bail.

The church next to Olivia’s school held a vigil for her on Wednesday.

A minute of applause in memory of the nine-year-old was held in the ninth minute of Saturday’s Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton.

A ceremony will be held for the nine-year-old in Liverpool on September 15, according to the funeral director’s announcement.

“The family asked everyone to wear a little bit of pink,” said a statement on Funeral Home Director Debbie Bennett’s website.

“Olivia will be very sad for all her family and friends.

“Funeral Mass at St Margaret Mary’s Church, Pilch Lane, Dovecot on September 15 at 11am, followed by a private burial.”
