Maybe it’s just *the way I live* but you can tell where I’ve been by looking at the edge of the glasses our home. I leave a bit of lipstick anywhere I use liquid. And while I love a bold lip look, I don’t like having to reapply every hour!
Last month, I did a bit of research on some highly rated long-wearing lipstick products. They get a bad rap for being dry and generally not fun to wear, but since I haven’t tried one since the early ’00s, it’s time to see what breakthroughs have been made in the formula.
I bought a variety of lipsticks from $11 up to $39. Unfortunately, the place where I spent the most cash was also where I was most disappointed. Moral of the story is that you don’t always get what you pay for when it comes to long-lasting lipstick! (For the record, I tried two that I didn’t like, mainly because they didn’t stay on my lips for long, which are: Lancome L’Absolu Lacquer Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick and Armani Beauty Lip Power Long Lasting Satin Lipstick.)
These are my three favorite long-wearing lipsticks.

NYX Shine Loud Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick (pictured above)
Price: $11
This product appeared in several articles I read and was also an Amazon bestseller. I bought both red and nude in lilac shade.
Color purchased: Rebel in Red and Life Goals
Prefer: You can apply this lipstick with or without lip gloss on top. You can also create this unique layer by applying, blotting, and reapplying. I use this method for a more natural look with my red lipstick and have found it has helped me achieve the long-lasting, even look I’ve been wanting.
Do not like: This would be quite difficult to apply without a mirror.
How long does it tend to stay on your lips? 3-4 hours

Kuckian Cosmetics Liquid Velvet Supremé Matte Lipstick
Price: $18
This product was recommended to me AFTER I bought the other two on this list. It had so many rave reviews, I thought I would give it a try and I’m so glad I did!
Color purchased: SIMI
Prefer: I LOVE the formula’s shade and opacity. It comes with three different brushes for a very detailed application (though I haven’t seen the need for them yet).
Do not like: Honestly nothing!
How long does it tend to stay on your lips? Up to six hours

Maybelline Super Stay Vinyl Ink Liquid Lipcolor
Price: $11
Great reviews on many sites helped this product gives a list of lipsticks I’ve tried. Although it has a few minor downsides, I like it overall!
Color purchased: Peach
Prefer: There are really nice shades and the price is great.
Do not like: I don’t panic about scents as I tend to prefer unscented products. It is also a bit on the sticky side.
How long does it tend to stay on your lips? 5-6 hours
