Lionel Messi has been eliminated from the nomination list for this year’s Ballon d’Or award for the world’s best football player.
The record eight-time winner is not among the 30 players competing for this year’s award, which will be presented on October 28.
Vinicius Junior, Rodri, Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland And Harry Kane are among the nominees.
Five-time winner Cristiano Ronaldo has also been overlooked.
Messi won this award last year.
