Limited number of scratches on Future Stars Friday BC cards

Only two of the five Breeders’ Cup races on Future Star Friday have scratches from the body of the pitch.

Frank Fletcher Racing Operations’ American Rockette outside Breeders ‘Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1), race 7, and Madaket Stables’ G Laurie scratched from race 8, Breeder’s Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1T). The second scratch allows the first scratch to also qualify Bling owned by G. Watts Humphrey Jr., to entice coach Vicki Oliver onto the field.

All other Breeders’ Cup horses that did not participate in Friday’s competition were also matched horses.

Conditions today are perfect with sunny skies and an unusually warm high temperature forecast set to 77 degrees. The main track is fast and the pitch is expected to be solid. The Central Kentucky area received much-needed rainfall October 30-31 after a prolonged dry spell.

The inside of the pitch shows less wear than the middle. With the inside track laid out during the recent fall competition meet, the inside is preserved for the Breeders’ Cup.
