Lexar announces CFexpress Class B Diamond Series memory cards


Hot on the heels of Exascend and NikonLexar has announced what it claims is the “world’s fastest” CFexpress Class B memory card. The new Diamond series cards will offer read speeds of up to 1,900MB/s and write speeds of up to 1,700MB/s. They will also be VPG400 certified, ensuring write speeds stay above 400MBps all the time, so they’ll be perfect for underwater photographers shooting 8K RAW video internally on cameras like Nikon Z9 and Sony Alpha 1. Lexar also unveiled a new CFexpress Type A Gold-series card, which will offer read and write speeds of 900MB/s and 700MB/s, respectively. The cards will also carry a VPG400 rating.

According to Lexar, the new Diamond-series cards will be backward compatible with “some cameras” that have an XQD card slot (since the Type B and XQD CFexpress cards are physically identical), even though CFexpress cards are used in Such slots will clog significantly more slowly. XQD speed.
