LEGO Builder’s Journey is now available on PS5 and PS4, and we’re proud to bring even more exciting game experiences to our players.
As a brand new feature in the game, you can unleash your creativity and build and share your own creations in Creative Mode. This is a much requested feature where you can go and build your own models or scenes with a curated selection of LEGO bricks.
There are several themes available and different options for building panels to start with: Some have a bit of inspiration built from the ground up like the bottom half of an automobile, while some to leaving more room for you to be creative in your crafting.
We’ve kept the controls and interface as simple as the rest of the game: When you open a brick crate, you’ll get a curated selection of bricks to build. Placing a brick automatically gives you another brick of the same shape and color – this is great for building symmetrical things. If you open the crate again, you’ll get a new selection of blocks. Paint buckets can be used to stain your tiles by literally pouring paint over them to change their color.
Once created, photo mode lets you adjust the lighting and perspective before snapping the perfect shot of your model and sharing it with friends.
The vision for Builder’s Journey was to create a different kind of LEGO game – one that puts bricks at the heart of the experience. The main part of the game is building with bricks to complete mini puzzles based on diorama that also tell the story of a child and parent, and the importance of playing together.
Music, art, design, and animation come together to deliver a wordless, atmospheric experience of gentle brain exercises and creative solutions to game challenges. Sometimes thinking creatively, coming up with new ideas, and breaking the rules is the only way forward.
Everything in the game from waterfalls and trees to characters and machines is built with LEGO bricks. Our designers have come up with some really unusual and unexpected uses for certain LEGO elements – give it a try and see if you can spot the special ones we use. Use bricks like hot dogs, cherries, or roller skates.
The PS5 version of the game features ray tracing to create unprecedentedly realistic renderings of LEGO bricks. The micro-scale scenes are so vivid that you can reach out and pick up the bricks.
