Lamborghini Urus recalled for screen error
The Lamborghini Urus has become the latest Volkswagen family car to fall victim to a malfunctioning display. A hardware failure can render the entire device permanently inoperable. Lamborghini says the replacement heads will be shipped to customers who receive vehicles with improper infotainment components.
Total population of Recall Only 48 will be made for the 2022 model year, which is good news for owners of the popular new Lamborghini SUV. The bad news? It’s a hardware issue that results in the screen being permanently disabled, not a mere software issue that can be resolved by restarting the infotainment system or restarting the car.
“Under certain conditions when the infotainment main unit is turned off, a failure in one of the voltage regulators can lead to damage to various components in the control unit, causing the loss of all functions including the display screen. In this case, the main infotainment unit is permanently damaged and needs to be replaced,” the VW report to NHTSA said. “When starting up, the driver will notice that the infotainment screen in the center console is not active and does not display images, which will make the driver pay more attention to objects behind the vehicle. when backing up.”
Customers will receive notice starting December. All hardware will be replaced at no cost to the customer.
