Lady Gaga Relaunches Her Entire Makeup Brand — Here’s My Honest Reaction

Lady Gaga’s makeup brand, Haus Laboratories, first launched in 2019 but has recently undergone a major overhaul, complete with new products, upgraded formulas, a new name—Lady Gaga’s Haus Labs-and a new retail partner in Sephora. It seems like a lot has changed in just the past few years, but it all means a lot, especially to Gaga. The new products represent a fusion of colorful makeup artistry and clean, “supercharged” formulas. These include unique ingredients like the patent-pending fermented Arnica, which may help reduce inflammation. This particular sequoia is 860% stronger than the regular one and was inspired by Gaga’s longtime use of the herb to treat her fibromyalgia. This new line of products has an overall focus on skin health as well as renewal and beautiful pigmentation.

This category contains 90 different SKUs in seven product categories. Some products are the same as before, just with a newer, cleaner formula — like Edge precision eyebrow pencil ($22), made with micro-pigments and nourishing coco-glyceride vitamin E. Then there are Hy-Power Eye, Cheek & Lip Pigment Paint ($24), a high-impact paint that can be used all over the face and comes in 11 full coats and nine matte finishes, as well as Power Sculpt Velvet Bronzer ($38) and Bio-Radiant Gel-Powder Highlighter ($40), both contain Fermented Arnica). The Doctor’s Hybrid Lip Oil ($24) contains vegan collagen and prickly pear oil and adjusts your pH, creating personalized color and Le Monster Lip Crayon ($22) comes in 13 shades and is made with mango seed oil and ceramides.

As a fan of the original line, I have to say I’m nervous about an revamp. I’ve been using Haus Labs products almost every day, especially Liquid Eye-Lie-Ner and Le Monster lipstick, and I’m sad to see that there’s no liquid eyeliner in this range. But a clean formula is always a good thing, and I trust Lady Gaga to know what she’s doing!

I was so excited about Hy-Power Pigment Paint and immediately knew what color I wanted to try — Mint Matte. Gaga was wear this special shade a lot lately, and it caught my eye. That bright mint shade looks like a dream, and I’m happy to report that it looks good on my lashes as well. It is highly pigmented and super silky. I made the mistake of trying to apply it with my fingers, which is probably okay if you’re creating a more subtle, blended look, but I’m trying to create big, bold strokes. like Gaga. My fingers are too messy, and it is difficult to get an accurate application. So I had to make a second try, choosing instead to use a stiff eyeshadow brush and an angled eye brush to color and draw the cat’s eyes. That worked perfectly. I also wonder if the formula might work better with different packaging, such as a built-in brush instead of a paint tube.

Bronzer is something I haven’t used very often in the past, but I’m trying to incorporate it into my makeup routine more often. Power Sculpt Velvet Bronzer feels buttery and soft, making it easy to blend and build on. Even a bronzer newbie like me can easily add some dimension to their face.

While I didn’t end up using the Optic Intensity Eco Eyeliner for this look, I did like that it comes with a built-in brush and found it to be quite resistant to color shifting. It has serious staying power. You have to move fast when applying it, so that’s something I’ll have to practice more of.

I fill in my brows with the Edge Precision Brow Pencil in Dark Brown and I love how I can draw precise hairs without worrying about the pencil breaking, which is often the case with super-premium brow pencils. other body that I used.

Next up is Le Monster Lip Crayon which, as I mentioned earlier, is one of my regular lipsticks. Since I had a bold eyeshadow, I used a lighter shade, Melon Matte. I’m happy to see it has the smooth application and wonderfully rich pigment that I loved in its original. However, one of the biggest surprises for me was how much I ended up loving the lipstick. I’m a matte lipstick girl, so whenever there’s a lipstick product that I find myself not one of, it really makes sense! Dr. Hybrid Lip Oil in Sheer Berry makes my lips look plump and glossy without being greasy or feeling heavy.

I am quite satisfied with the makeover of Haus Labs by Lady Gaga. The only thing I’m missing is liquid eyeliner (I’m still using my old one), but I hope it returns. I’m excited to see what’s next as the brand is supposed to launch even more products in three new categories this fall! Anyone who loves the original line should definitely try this one, especially the cool pigment paints. If you haven’t tried Gaga’s makeup brand yet, now is the perfect time to do so.
