Kojima Productions moves offices, ‘hosts iconic hallways on Metaverse’
‘We decided to store it as digital data’
The Kojima Productions offices are moving after five long years at the incredibly memorable Tokyo location.
Oddly enough, you’ve seen pictures of the aforementioned office at some point, whether it’s the super long “Ludens corridor” or through multiple photos on a tour of Conan O’Brien. Now that exact layout is gone. A few days ago Kojima confirmed this newsclarify:
“Today is the day we say goodbye to the entryway, the Ludens hallway, and the kitchen that has been our home for over five years. Many memories come to mind. Farewell?????????”
Suffice it to say that an exact reason was not given for the move or how the new Kojima Productions offices will stack up: all we know at the moment is that he’s hard at work on a new game. Oh, and in true Kojima style, he’s “archiving a piece of it in the Metaverse.” A few days after announcing that he had packed up and left, Kojima herself tweeted out that “iconic entrance” (but is it as iconic as a Ubisoft hat?) is being stored as digital data over video and VR, as it “cannot be moved or physically stored anymore”.
I won’t skip him to point straight through the hallway in a playable opening scene in his next game; or even a random corridor in a random part of said game like an easter egg.
