ONE KOF XV Special short animation is now available for watch on YouTube, courtesy of SNK. SNK commissioned popular anime director Masami Obari to direct the short before the game’s official release. After the game’s release, the full short will also be available to view through the game’s gallery mode.
Director Masami Obari is a notable character in king of warriors and Fatal Fury Franchising. Notably, Obari directed the 1994 animated film Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture. He has also worked on two Fatal Fury OVA as a character designer. He later founded his own animation studio, Studio G-1, and directed anime series such as Super Robot Wars Original Generation: Inspector and Gundam Build Fightersamong many others.
Last year, SNK announced that Obari would be directing the animated short special with official disclosure belong to KOF XV. Then the official SNK Twitter account teased a short clip of the animation with some cuts to avoid spoiling the characters that were unannounced at the time. Obari himself since then commented on the animated short special via Twitter and thanked SNK for giving him the opportunity.
