This version of Mai is a 1/7 scale figure. She is expected to be about 8 inches tall. She is wearing her outfit in the game. Her stand also references the JAPAN STREET stage in the game. The design is based on the art of Shunya Yamashita, like all works by Bishoujo.

Back in March 2021, Kotobukiya announced that SNK . character will join its Bishoujo character line. At the time, it only teased characters from King of Fighters ’98 and SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy. Until August 2021, Mai Shiranui is confirmed to be the first character in the collection. In December 2021 it was noted that the second person would be the female version of Terry Bogard from Heroine SNK.
