Koenigsegg makes more CC850s because they sell out fast
The Koenigsegg CC850 Out of stock. That’s not surprising at all, since the supercar taken almost as fast as Jesko’s transmission is subject to change. But the interesting thing is that the company sold 50 units so fast, they finally decided to expand production to almost half.
Instead of just 50 cars, Koenigsegg announced it would expand its operations by 20. According to the company, the initial allocation sold quickly enough that some long-time Koenigsegg customers missed out on the opportunity to own a supercar. It eventually went back to some early-orderers to check if they were okay with the expansion, and apparently things went well.
The 50-run race is based on founder and owner Christian von Koenigsegg’s 50th birthday. The 20 additional units are based on the 20th anniversary of the company’s first production vehicle, the CC8S. It’s also the car the CC850 is celebrating with a manual version of the lightweight nine-speed automatic transmission and over 1,000 horsepower.
