Kicking off the MSF Championship 2023 season – Round 1 of SuperTurismo, Superbikes in Sepang this weekend


First held in 2010, the Malaysia Speed ​​Festival (MSF) kicked off the 2023 championship season in two- and four-wheel racing, with the first round kicking off this weekend. on March 5, 2023.

This will take place at Sepang International Circuit, where the 5.5 km, 15-turn track will once again host the MSF SuperTurismo for production cars and the MSF Superbikes series for two-wheelers.

Racers in the MSF SuperTurismo will see production cars categorized into three categories – Ultimate Series, Super Series and Production Series, which, in addition to the once-production Saga Cup, the latter of which proved to be well received with the grid. departure with up to 70 participating vehicles.

A new endurance lap will be introduced for this year’s MSF SuperTurismo, called the Merdeka 88 Endurance. As the name suggests, the new addition to the calendar will include 88 laps on the Sepang International Circuit.

For motorcycles, MSF Superbikes participants will be entered into the All Stars, GP Master, GP Pro, GP X and Super Rookie categories, where selection is based on experience and ability (as measured by lap time).

At the Sepang International Circuit, six MSF SuperTurismo races will be held this year – March 5, June 11, July 9, September 17 and the finale on October 22. Superbikes will share four of those days; March 5, July 9, September 17 and the finale on October 22.

Smaller but equally interesting capacity under the MotoMSF umbrella for motorcycles is Supercar MSF series, in which riders on supermotos perform close-quarters races with multiple slides on tight racetracks across the country.

Six rounds, including a non-championship round will be held for this year’s MSF SuperMoto, starting with Round 1 at Litar Lumba Rakyat Kuala Selangor on March 11-12, followed by UniMap Perlis for Round 2 on May 20-21. The non-championship round will be held at Morac Langkawi on June 17-18, followed by Round 3 in Tangkak, Johor on August 5-6.

The venue for Round 4 on September 2 to 3 has been determined and the season finale will be held on November 5 at the Sepang International Motor Speedway.
