Kia EV9 2024: This Is It
Kia was revealed for the first time EV9 . concept at the Los Angeles Auto Show in late 2021. At that point, we’re not entirely sure how the production version will look compared to the concept, but as you can see here, it’s pretty decent. near the. It has more traditional headlights, actual rearview mirrors, and conventional rear doors, but we don’t really expect those to make it to production.
In case you lost it:
Style is subjective, but overall, I like the way it looks. It’s boxy and has a distinctive look that won’t get lost in the parking lot. Also, I appreciate that it has its own style and doesn’t look like a larger version of EV6. And while Kia hasn’t announced official dimensions, if the EV9 sticks to the concept’s dimensions, it will actually be slightly shorter than Kia Telluride overall while having a nearly 8 inch longer wheelbase. So it won’t be as small but not nearly as big as it might appear in the photo.
Inside, the production EV9 still has the spirit of the concept but thankfully, much more casual. The yoke is gone, replaced by a regular steering wheel with actual buttons on it. And while there’s still plenty of screen space in the form of two 12.3-inch horizontal displays, it looks like there are still a few physical controls in the center, including the volume knob.

The cabin itself seems spacious and airy, despite the lack of a panoramic sunroof. Heck, we don’t even see the regular sunroof in the photos. Customers will have the option of seating six or seven, and the press release promises “spacious space for all passengers to connect and relax with lounge-style comfort in all three rows. ” So expect that long wheelbase to provide plenty of legroom even for rear-seat passengers.
The production EV9 also comes with a neat party trick. The second row of seats can be rotated 180 degrees, allowing passengers in both rear seats to talk, play games, organize pizza parties or whatever they want to do. As long as they don’t get motion sickness from going the wrong way, we’re sure the kids will love having that option. It looks like you can also rotate the seat 90 degrees, which could make it easier for parents to put their kids in the car seat.
Sadly, that’s all the information we have to share at the moment. Obviously, the full reveal will come later this month, where Kia hopes to announce all the important things that it omitted from this announcement, such as How much power does the EV9 generate, how big is its battery, how long is its range, actual and hopefully size, and both price and sale date. But we have to say, we like what we’ve seen so far.
