Kawasaki is recalling W800 motorcycles (EJ800C & EJ800D) because their horns may stop working. A total of 1,660 motorcycles are affected by this recall.
At the heart of the problem with the Kawasaki W800 is the fact that the bike’s horn belt can break due to engine vibrations, which can then cause the horn to fail.
When testing the problem with the horn’s belt set, Kawasaki discovered that by adjusting both the frequency and amplitude of the engine’s vibrations, they were able to reproduce the premature failure of the belt, but the failure cases choking is thought to be very rare in practice. .
However, to remedy this problem, Kawasaki dealers will replace the horn, horn mounting bracket and horn belt free of charge. However, Kawasaki has not yet released a recall notice schedule.
