Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Movie helps form Yuta and other characters
Jujutsu Kaisen 0, as its name suggests, is a prequel that introduces characters like Yuta and provides insight into other allies and enemies. Which it is extremely effective in getting it done. It uses Yuta – who comes here as a completely new person – as a portal into the world of Curses and Witches. As such, it becomes the perfect introduction to the series while also providing new insights for the series’ followers.
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Undoubtedly, is the story of Yuta Okkotsu and Rika Orimoto. It starts with us seeing her drive to protect him when some bullies come to attack him. They were all killed, and he was left thinking he would isolate himself forever. But instead, after meeting with the elders of the Jujutsu Guild, Satoru Gojo takes him to Jujutsu High School. There, he was in the same class as Maki Zen’in, Toge Inumaki, and Panda.
In what honestly is a pretty wise decision. While Yuta appeared in Jujutsu Kaisen appropriately, he’s not an immediate member of the cast. The nature of his Curse means that he is new to the world of Witches just like Yuji Itadori. This means that Jujutsu Kaisen 0 can effectively introduce his characters and world to newcomers. Yuta is our eyes. When he learns something, so do we.
Structure of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 at first the series was like multiple episodes of a show put together, which also helped aid accessibility and speed. Have Yuta come to school and do the first mission with Maki. We see hints of Yuta and Rika’s background. We have to see another quest with Yuta and Toge. It all leads to a massive battle with the Night Parade of 100 Demons. Everything is like an easy-to-digest portion, to keep it from being overloaded with information. At the same time, it’s all interconnected, with the threads becoming more apparent as we get to the end.
But what’s more important is Jujutsu Kaisen 0 for characters that we already know. Oddly enough, someone would come to see the movie with some degree of understanding of the series. In the main series, the first years at the school’s Tokyo branch, Yuji, Megumi Fushiguro, and Nobara Kugisaki, are the focus and star. This movie allows Maki, Toge and Panda to come into the spotlight. We can learn more about Maki and Toge’s abilities and background specifically. These moments of face-to-face encounters with Yuta and them not only allow him to identify with them, but also let the audience know them better.
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 are also very good at giving the supporting characters a few minutes of their own. This mainly appears in the Night Parade of 100 Demons. Witches and staff from Tokyo and Kyoto schools make guest appearances. In many cases, it is an opportunity to support what we already know about them and their abilities.
In short term, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 the series is effective in adding Yuta and other characters to both newbies and those already familiar with the series. The pacing gives everyone a chance to learn more about Yuta, as well as his new classmates. First, it happens through a one-on-one installation. But then, once viewers are reassured about everyone’s growth, through a larger battle brings more cameos from more characters. It’s a handy and well-executed supplement.
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will appear in theaters in the US and Canada on March 18, 2022. It launches in Japan in December 2022. Viz Media handled the localization of the manga.
