I’m joking – but not really! – when I say that the most haunting enemy in Elden Ring was a large silver ball, uncomfortably self-aware and brimming with bloodlust.

Or sure, maybe Chanting Dames really had wings under your skin. Now that I’ve had plenty of time to reflect, I’m with Reddit user QuirklessStoner – the “most threatening” enemy in the world. Elden Ring must be the big Silver Tear balls.

Although I have built tolerance with From Software’s gnarly creature with Dark Souls III and Bloodborne running back, I’ve never been able to shake off my aversion to spherical threats – ever since Phantasm. Not since Sen’s Fortress. My roller trap paranoia knows no bounds.

In Elden Ringmy worst fear came true in Nokron, Eternal City.
It’s a spooky place in a game full of them, but the vibe is different from anything else in Elden Ring. It haunted me all the way, to the point where I couldn’t stay longer than I really needed to. Thoughts of a Silver Tear– the cobblestone face sneaking up to strangle me is too much to bear. And you know, the lore involved certainly didn’t assuage my fears.
