Joe Banner is crushed because Lamar Jackson trauma tweet omits an important detail
Ravens . winger Lamar Jackson injured ankle in Baltimore’s Week 14 vs. the Browns – the perfect time for Joe Banner to consider the running quarterback’s play.
Former NFL executive and ESPN analyst is quickly pointed out Jackson Lamar Jackson like?
There was just one problem: Jackson was injured after Browns outfielder Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah hit him low after finishing 5 yards ahead of tight-finished Mark Andrews:
It was a bad look for Banner, who clearly saw Jackson’s injury on Twitter and assumed it happened as a result of a running game. He also neglected to explain how injuries to the other so-called “running quarterback” had become a trend (a story long dismissed in the NFL).
GIVE ADVICE: Vulnerable to injuries when running QBs like Russell Wilson, Lamar Jackson is exaggerated
Lamar Jackson is the latest QB to try to run a lot to get injured. It’s been pretty consistent around the league. Should inform future decision making about the tournament

A simple tweet that Lamar like all the other running QBs got hurt (not a fact of opinion) yielded some of the most ridiculous tweets including a lot of people paying to make analysis. They don’t understand that QB’s wear and tear is as important as the play

It should be noted that Banner has been extremely critical of Jackson in the past, announced in 2018 that he has “defects” that could make him a failure as an NFL quarterback and that he would exercise caution when training with teams as a broad receiver. He has Lobbying similar criticism up against Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, who has also found success as an active quarterback.
Despite that, Banner refused to back down from his original stance, calling anyone on Twitter who correctly noted that Jackson was dealt with after completing a throw. As a result, he was justifiably (and legitimately) attacked on social media.
Here are some of the best reactions to Banners:
THAN: Captain Josh Gordon records years of goalless streak with TD capturing Raiders
17 of 32 NFL teams have missed QB games due to injury this year. Famous athletes Ryan Fitzpatrick, Sam Darnold and Jameis Winston are currently participating in IR. There is not much evidence to say that itinerant QBs are more vulnerable than others. https://t.co/yYAl0VhXtm
