Is the great re-initialization of energy compatible with life?

This story is about the “Great Reboot” for energy. First, some philosophy. The subject of “energy” is a difficult one. The harsh reality is that today, we are stuck in a place where a monopoly on energy production is a de facto absolute requirement for a fraction of the powerful – and therefore , most if not all existing methods of energy production. to match the needs of modern life and growing industrial production.

All large-scale methods involve overusing nature or adversely affecting our health – just look at landfills, air pollution, oil leaks, noisy wind turbines invading ocean, Teflon, Chernobyl and Fukushima impregnated solar panels – and we still depend on having access to energy!

It’s not clear if we as a species were completely wrong to join the industrial revolution – or if we could one day find “energy” in a way that makes sense to exist without without sacrificing our modern habits or not.

I really don’t know the answer to that question, only time will tell. But what I do know is that corporate environmentalism is a lie, and their “green sustainable energy” isn’t remotely green – unless they mean the color of money – nor is it. lasting.

Oil extraction is destructive. Solar panels and their Teflon are destructive. Miles of wind turbines are destructive. The kernel can die instantly when it breaks (but it’s rushing towards us like a bulldozer, hence the topic of this article).

The energy sector, due to its core importance to every other industry and its enormous profit potential, attracts the most unscrupulous, opportunistic and ruthless – and it has led some in some of them became disproportionately rich and powerful. Just look at the oil dynasties in America or the Russian oligarchs who got rich from natural resources after the fall of the Soviet Union!

Oil wars past and present

This is just one example, a glimpse of historical oil-related murders, as they occurred on the land of Osage in the early 20th century. At the dawn of the century, the cities Members of the Osage nation – after being forced out of their original ancestral lands – find themselves sitting on top of abundant oil reserves on newly acquired land in Oklahoma. And suddenly, they became very rich.

By the 1920s, Osage had become the richest people per capita in the world. And then the murders begin, and the high-profile cold-blooded conspiracies – and by the way, NPR actually uses the word “conspiracy”, despite the fact that the supposed conspiracies don’t exist – and then legislation was passed forcing Osage to have white “guardians” for everything they did.

That is, the people in power are very specific about who is allowed to make excessive amounts of money from natural resources. I don’t think that has changed. Here’s a very insightful presentation by David Grann, who wrote a book about it called “The Killer of the Moon: The Osage Killer and the Birth of the FBI”:

Future ideas

Right now, those in power appear to be trying to restructure the world economy and tighten farmers’ belts – and restructuring the energy sector is part of their ambition.

A bit of a curiosity: aside from the widely promoted (implemented suppressed, largely ignored) solar and wind power, there have been claims that we will be using the green kinetic energy from the motions of our bodies and even from the contractions of our blood vessels – using a specially implanted device for the latter. In that context, I can’t help but think of Microsoft’s famous patent for cryptocurrency mining with physical activity…

Overall, this is the ambition declared by the World Economic Forum to redesign core planetary and cellular processes and replace everything natural with everything synthetic. It’s pretty cool.

New Boss Worse than Old Boss… or Same Boss?

While any shift to new energy production methods may raise some new faces and give birth to new financially strong groups, the general principle of turning life into profit remains the same. value. And of course, it’s the same people who’ve owned and disrupted the energy industry in an “old normal” fashion who are now talking about “green sustainability” and “fighting the climate emergency.”

Beneath the rhetoric, they just want to retain and solidify their ownership of the industry under the “new normal” – and so they’re trying to create new markets out of thin air. (sometimes, literally). To that end, they are using various brazen lies about “sustainability” and “fairness” so that they can once again dominate the new market they are creating for themselves. me. Simple, elegant and neat.

Bill Gates on nuclear energy

In his famous 2010 TED talk – a talk everyone will remember for his talk about reducing the world’s population with vaccines, etc. – Bill Gates also talked about his love of nuclear energy core.

This 2018 “Bloomberg” article titled, “Billionaires Chase the ‘SpaceX Moment’ for the Energy Holy Grail” provides more context:

“The goal is to one day create clean, virtually limitless energy by fusing atoms together instead of separating them… Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates and Peter Thiel are just three of those. billionaire pursues what the late physicist Stephen Hawking called humanity’s most promising technology.” Safe and effective, I’m sure!

This is Bill Gates, in 2018: “America’s leaders must embrace nuclear power.” According to an article published that year, “Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates wants to change the entire nation’s energy policy by 2019…

The billionaire philanthropist has released a letter detailing what he learned in 2018 and what he hopes to achieve in 2019. One of his goals for the coming year is to convince donors America’s leader “gets into the game” of advanced nuclear power – and the future of our environment can rest on his success. “

And here’s a 2020 NASDAQ.com article titled, “Bill Gates and the Big Oils Pursuing a Nuclear Fusion Dream”: It Just Resounds About Sustainability!

“The decades-old debate over nuclear fusion and fission is on the verge of breaking ground as start-up Commonwealth Fusion Systems wins over Bill Gates and other backers. Commonwealth Fuel Systems has a The system is powered by high-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnets, key to a commercial fusion energy system operational in the early 2030s – many years earlier than some fusion projects big in the world.

CFS, a US-based startup from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, is developing its HTS technology to deliver what it claims will commercialize nuclear fusion energy. That comes with unlimited zero-carbon energy and a much more reliable source of renewable energy for power plants than intermittent wind and solar. “

“Nuclear fusion is seen as the answer to the general decline in support for nuclear power since Japan’s Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster in 2011. That crisis took place in 2013. when the San Onofre nuclear power plant in California was closed after its replacement steam generators failed; and has so far been out of commission.

Fusion has been seen as the go-to solution because it produces less radioactive material than fission and has a near-unlimited supply of fuel. “

“Equinor sees CFS as a suitable option for its zero-carbon portfolio, which already includes solar and offshore wind. The Norwegian company is part of an $84 million funding round for the company. The startup joins an existing group of investors that include oil and gas company Eni and Bill Gates’ Breakthrough Energy Company.” No further comments.

“Safe and Efficient”, Meaning “Green and Sustainable” Nuclear Energy

According to a rather excellent pre-COVID documentary called “Trust WHO”, the World Health Organization has consistently downplayed the risks of nuclear incidents, which I would like to explain is sponsored by Bill Gates, and Bill Gates very like. And here’s another recent headline:

a small nuclear war could reverse global warming

In May 2020, I started a Twitter thread about the impending “greening” of nuclear energy. So far, to my horror, it’s going according to schedule:

CDC on Radiation Emergencies

Meanwhile, the CDC is releasing new documents on how to act during a radiation emergency (Duck and Cover 2.0):

Where do we go from here?

Like I said, it’s a difficulty. The state of the energy industry is a direct reflection of the state of our existence as a species. For that reason, I think, if we want to find methods of energy production that are not particularly destructive, there is no way to solve the problems that exist that have accumulated over the centuries – if no, we will continue to live and depend on that startup to sustain us.

If we want to get rid of the cognitive mode practiced by Bill Gates – we suddenly find ourselves in the realm of soul searching and mystery. I really think that it totally celebrates the mystery of life – and only from that place, a place of respect and happiness, of humility not of martyrdom, will we be able to find solutions that do not exist. destructive.

In what Steven Newcomb profoundly defines as the System of Domination, the “energy industry” is driven by control and only by control. If there was a way to generate a lot of power without powering it through a large monopoly, it would be immediately shut down – and, who knows, the inventors and proponents it can be shot down. Why? Because “energy” gives birth to all things. Whoever controls the production of “energy” controls the world.

The whole road we’ve taken to the industrial revolution has been a bit wobbly. I believe there are answers rooted in joy – but we have a long way to go to get there. Even now, be careful. They say looking at energy bills can give you a heart attack!
