Mule-likes found new life in recent years. This means a bunch of similar titles. It also means the return of Disney Magical World 2, One Disney character-filled life simulation, on Nintendo Switch with Enchanted version. To help better understand what happened in this new version, Siliconera spoke with Producer Sanae Honma about the game.
Jenni Lada: Evolution on Enhanced version of Disney Magical World 2 Port switching starts?
Sanae Honma: We started talking about it about a year and a half before release, and then we had to coordinate with the licensors and the development company, so I think the actual development time was less than a year. .
What challenges have you faced while playing games from 3DS to Switch? What is the participation process like?
Honma: Since I was in charge of the Switch version and the development company was different from the 3DS version, I started by gathering information from that point on and analyzing the inherited data. In the early stages of development we soon hit a wall and things didn’t go quite as planned, but with the help of the team members at the time, I think we I proceeded as planned.
On the 3DS, Disney Magical World 2 sometimes feels as if it’s going to be a little off-limits. How did the Switch port eliminate problems?
Honma: Since we make games with higher resolutions, we have to worry about capacity issues in the later stages of development. A lot of reduction affects the overall impression of the game, so we checked the backs of objects and backgrounds not visible to the player, one by one, and made careful adjustments.
The image changes are very clear and the game runs completely on one screen. Are there any other, less obvious changes you’ve added to help improve quality of life in the Switch version of Disney Magical World 2?
Honma: Aside from the visuals and a screen, all of the DLC is included in the game. It contains about 100 items that are distributed in stages for promotions at the time and will be given to players as they progress through the game. Players can use cute outfits and interior decorations very early on, so that they can enjoy the game in their own style.
Some visual glitches may appear during gameplay. How will the group support? Disney Magical World 2 after debut?
Honma: We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. We are currently working on a patch to fix the issue, which should be released early this year.
All DLC from the 3DS version is included in the base game. During development, have you considered trying to add additional worlds as new DLC?
Honma: I believe the original concept of 3DS was once completed with “2”, so this time we are not adding any DLC or worlds, but focusing on single screen and high resolution for users Convert and Disney Magical World Fans can enjoy the match without stress.
Given the sudden popularity of life simulations during the pandemic, how do you feel that will affect your life? Disney Magical World 2 The current?
Honma: I hope it will have an impact. Although life simulation games have been established as a game genre, I believe the pandemic has spread the appeal of the genre to people who have never played it before and I feel that the This type will attract attention from many people in the future.
Would you consider working on a Disney Magical World 3? If so, which Disney movies and complementary assets would you most like to incorporate if licensing and approval processes don’t matter?
Honma: I love Disney myself, and enjoy the movies, merchandise, and parks every day. If there is a sequel to this game, I would like to create more opportunities to interact with the characters because they are so engaging as well as the plot.
