India’s squad for the upcoming Asian Cup, which will play in the UAE from August 27, was announced on Monday. Rohit Sharma will lead the team, while former captain Virat Kohli returns to the team after a break. The world’s top speed athlete Jasosystem Bumrah has been ruled out of the tournament due to injury.
KL Rahul returns to the Indian team as vice-captain after recovering from injury and COVID-19. Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik are two options to keep players in the 15 squad. Three professional spinners are part of the team including, Ravichandran Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravi Bishnoi. Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja are two all-rounders.
Deepak Hooda, Suryakumar Yadav are two polishing options.
In Bumrah’s absence, the speed attack will be led by experienced Bhuvneshwar Kumar with youngsters Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh rounding out the team.

Due to injury, not on the shortlist Jasearch Bumrah and Harshal Patel. They are currently in rehab at the NCA in Bengaluru.Three players – Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel and Deepak Chahar have been called the top.

Jailbreak expert Harshal Patel was also sidelined with an injury. Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel and Deepak Chahar are known as dictators.
“The All India High-Level Selection Committee has selected India’s squad for the upcoming 2022 Asian Cup which will be played from 27order August to 11order September 2022. 15order version of the tournament will be played in the UAE between six teams (main event). The defending champions India are also the most successful, having won the cup seven times. While the final edition of the tournament is held in the ODI format, this one will be in the T20 format.
“Six teams were split into two groups with India, Pakistan and one qualifying team in Group A and Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan forming Group B. Each team played each other once in the group stage with the top two teams each. group will advance to the Super 4 round. The top two teams from Super 4 will qualify for the final,” BCCI said in its official statement.
In a separate note about Bumrah and Harshal, the council added, “Jasionary Bumrah and Harshal Patel are unavailable for selection due to injuries. They are currently in rehab at the NCA in Bengaluru.”
