I’m refreshing my wardrobe — these 5 items are in the hack

With just a few weeks until January, I’ve been grinding up spirulina, eating more vegetables, cooking more at home, and rearranging my apartment. The only thing left to deal with: my dense wardrobe. Since moving to LA from Brooklyn, I’ve been fortunate to have a walk-in closet, but the overflowing room has resulted in a new problem of too much clothing. I’ve been putting off cleaning out my closet for months, but January’s zest has put me at a high level.

First thing first: edit all the works that I’ve come across or haven’t touched in months. This includes trends that are past their infancy, parts that are completely impractical for LA weather, and parts that no longer work for me. But I don’t just put things on piles of firewood – I plan to replace them with affordable staples that will wear out a lot. For a full report on sections on the clipping block, you’ll want to keep scrolling. Hopefully this gives you the boost you need to get on your way.

Full disclosure: My fur coats will be in the donation bin soon (it’s a classic!), but I make sure to put them in the back of my closet in favor of cloud coats . Technically a quilted coat, cloud coats are a bit less bulky than their furry counterparts, which means it’s easier to layer as well. When the ice starts to melt, that’s a part that can easily turn to spring.

It’s a weird moment right now: Your couch is the office, and going to the office really isn’t a regular part of my schedule anymore. (Except for a handful of work appointments that alternate between appointments.) That’s a lot. Suits easily fluctuate between any and all of these cases, especially in ways that a suit simply cannot. Another plus? They are equally comfortable.

Minimalism will always have a place in my heart, but I’m ditching the simple pieces for more trendy basics. I’m talking staples with some eye-catching little details like cool buttons, ruffles or slit hemlines.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Get ready for the maximum length era. As someone who has always been a fan of longer lengths, I’m totally on trend with longer skirts and tops. I will especially stock up on dresses as these are a winter staple.

I’m ushering in a new phase of wall-wearing with a wealth of bold prints and patterns. From pigmented colors to vibrant blooms, it’s time to be seen in 2022.
