‘I will try to find a way’: Ricky Ponting wants India to play with both these stars in the T20 World Cup

Former captain of Australia Ricky Ponting feel India should find a way to include both Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik in their squad playing for the T20 World Cup. Ponting feels that both ping pongers are in top form and that having both players on the team could benefit Team India. While Pant is in excellent form in international cricket, Dinesh Karthik has enjoyed an impressive Indian Premier League campaign with Royal Challengers Bangalore. Ponting said he would give Pant and Karthik over people like Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan.

“We’ve seen what Rishabh is capable of in cricket over 50 and I totally know what he’s capable of in the T20 game. Dinesh Karthik had his best IPL most recently… and I Will try to find a way to have both of them on my team Rishabh to beat, within three or four years, and have Dinesh and maybe Hardik Pandya…if you have those guys complete for you, the batting formation looks very, very dangerous,” Ponting said on ICC Review.

“Obviously that means someone like (Ishan) Kishan or Surya (Suryakumar Yadav) or (Shreyas) Iyer, one like that, could miss and I don’t think Surya will miss with his current form. But when you have so much talent it’s always difficult to pick an Indian team and Pant and Karthik will be the two, I would pre-pick Kishan now,” he added.
