“I will be the first man to stop him”

Conor Benn has vowed to be the first to stop Chris Eubank Jr.

The WBA Continental welterweight champion will set his undefeated record as he steps gaining weight to take on the son of former two-division world champion Chris Eubank.

Benn (21-0, 14 KOs), son of former world champion Nigel, will face second-generation Eubank on October 8.

O2 Arena in London will host the clash and it will be streamed exclusively worldwide on DAZN and on DAZN Pay-Per-View in the UK and Ireland.

It was in 1990 and again in 1993 that Eubank Sr and Nigel Benn fought in two brutal matches for the world championship.

Eubank Sr took the first win through the ninth inning, clinching the WBO middleweight title in the process, but the second match, which took place in the super-middleweight, ended in a draw.

Now, 29 years have passed, except for one day, their sons will clash.

In an exclusive interview with Matchroom Boxing YouTube ChannelBen says:

“This is a legacy war.”

“It was a big rivalry between Eubank Sr. and my father, Nigel Benn, and it was a war that is still talked about to this day.

“It was one of Britain’s great rivals and the legacy lives on. It’s really about the legacy, this fight, and I feel like the stars have come together for this moment. “
