I went to an Apple store and all I heard was bad news

That black is beautiful. If you can find one.

I’m actually quite emotional.

So when I heard the bad news, I had to do something.

You see, Bloomberg yes report that Apple will not increase production iPhone 14″ – yes, all iPhone models 14 – because the demand wasn’t quite what the company had hoped for.

So I immediately took it to an Apple store to see what was going on. Will there be anguished and haunting screams of blue t-shirts? Do you grind your teeth and grimace?

Also: I made a big mistake with my Apple Watch

I sometimes go to Apple stores as soon as they open, hoping that there will be fewer people and more attentive salespeople.

Then I was there at 10:02 a.m. on a weekday morning, expecting to find a large space.

Instead, there were at least 30 customers inside.

What happened? Why are these people here? What has happened to them? Are they not sleeping? Did they not hear?

What did we have? We have bad news

I wandered and slid towards one of the two iPhone 14 desks. I picked it up iPhone 14 Prowhich, the best experts sayis a significant improvement over any of its predecessors.

I chose a Space Black. With a less shiny back, it feels a bit easier to hold than my iPhone 12. Especially when I’d rather eat maggots than buy an iPhone case.

Oddly enough, no Apple store salesperson came to talk to me about the newest little machine. Instead, an elderly couple is being helped at the same table. They don’t have to sell.

“I want one iPhone 14″‘, said the woman, unconcerned. And he will get the same. “

“What color do you want?” asked the Apple salesman.

“Who cares?” customer reply. Then she turned to her husband and said, “You always lose me, so color doesn’t really matter, does it?”

At this point, I giggled.

To my chuckle, the woman pointed at me and said, “And he’s paying for it.”

I giggled once more, apologizing for my intrusion, and couldn’t help but comment on the state of her current case. She giggled.

But still no Apple salesperson showed up. So I tried to see what Dynamic island look like. (Like a cutely stretched trench.)

Next, another customer came to the table, accompanied by an Apple salesman.

He could only give her bad news: “Yes, we don’t have any right now. We were hoping to have a shipment in the next few hours, but we never really did. know if it’s really coming.”

She wants a 512GB model in Space Black. The seller replied that it looks like they have them in two other stores. Each is about 20 miles away.

But what if you go all the way and they’ve sold out and don’t know when their next shipment will arrive?

I don’t see a lack of demand for these phones – or anything other than Apple Watch. That table was completely empty. The rest, somewhat tumultuous.

I need some air

So, confused by being ignored, I switched MacBook Air table. I’m pondering, pondering and thinking about whether to get one Midnight M2 MacBook Air.

I played with it for a while. I even went in Amazon’s and found it $100 cheaper there than in the Apple store.

Still no salesperson thinks I’m worthy of a chat. Two people standing far away from each other talking.

If they have 1TB midnight M2 Air in stock, I bought it at that time. But, given the bad news I’ve heard elsewhere about possible – probable deliveries, I doubt they won’t.

So what can I do but go back to the iPhone board? This time, another customer was told she chose dark purple iPhone 14 Pro not in stock there. But a store, yes, 20 miles away had them.

“Or, if you order it on our website, you can get it by October 4,” the salesperson said.

Tell me something good

This is northern California. I wouldn’t assume it represents the rest of America – or even any other part of California. Or, to put it bluntly, anywhere, except for certain parts of Austin, Texas.

But it looks like the Apple store has turned into a Bad News Bears auditorium.

If you don’t care about color – or, really, if you don’t care about the iPhone variant you want – this store probably already has something for you.

Also: Which iPhone is right for you and how do the different models compare?

However, if you’re looking to be sold, I’m afraid this isn’t the day. And I’m afraid of this happened in a few days to quite a few people last.

Does this indicate a lack of demand? Or could it indicate a lack of perfect demand planning on Apple’s part?

Yes, iPhone 14 doesn’t look completely different from mine iPhone 12″, although the camera bump appears to be much larger. But I’m willing to be sold, ready to at least listen to upgraded, upgraded arguments.

Instead, I spent 24 minutes in the store and not a single sales soul came near.

I may be emotional, but I am not hurt.

Well, maybe a little. It’s not like I’m asking, is it?
