The latest free game giveaways in GOG’s winter sale are a surprise for the festive season, but perhaps one that captures the feeling of being stuck in a seemingly endless Christmas lunch. with terrible relatives: I have no mouth and I have to scream. Nothing says “bad family Christmas” like being tortured for 109 years by a sentient supercomputer that has blown humanity away and left only five alive to torment. The 90s point ‘n’ click adventure is a gritty game (so grim!), but one that has fans.

Based on a short story by Harlan Ellison (much shorter than the game itself), IHNMAIMS is as gritty as you might expect from a story about a computer expressing hatred for humanity. AM (formerly the Allied Mastercomputer, now a living statement) there are five of you trapped to torture forever, warping the bodies and minds of the last remnants of humanity. sort and expose them to terrible scenarios. Interesting topics covered include rape and genocide. Even as a game, it’s unforgiving, with plenty of ways for things to end horribly, not to mention some real ’90s ‘adventure game logic’.
“Everybody remembers the name of it, and everyone remembers how annoying it was, but I’m not sure anyone really, really wants to replay it right now,” Alec said as he ran down. The best game based on books. Some people do.
