Hyundai Seven concept aims for an electric family SUV with a range of 300 km to be launched in 2024
On Wednesday, Hyundai unveiled the Seven concept at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show, showcasing a future family SUV for the all-electric Ioniq sub-brand.
The name of the suggested concept at Ioniq 7 coming soon, due in 2024. It could also be a reference to seven seats, which seems like a possibility given the size of the Seven concept. However, the concept has a lounge-like interior designed for future autonomous driving.
Accessed by a suicide door, it has a sofa-like rear bench seat and a swiveling front seat. The idea is that, when the car goes into self-driving mode, the driver can rotate their seat to face other passengers.

This interior design may just be the fantasy of a concept car, but the exterior design seems closer to being production-ready. The concept of Seven has the same Parametric Pixel Light is a smaller crossover than the Hyundai Ioniq 5, part of Hyundai’s efforts to create a distinct school of design for its Ioniq vehicles.
As with The concept of prophecy (set to be the Ioniq 6) Hyundai has incorporated some new ideas about airflow and disinfection in the cabin. The Seven concept features a ventilation system inspired by commercial airliners, with the ability to draw air through intakes on the roof rails, explains Hyundai.

This concept model uses the same E-GMP dedicated EV platform that debuted with the Ioniq 5 and is also shared with the Kia EV6 and Genesis GV60. Prophecy-based Ioniq 6 will also use the platform.
Hyundai didn’t provide many technical details, but said the concept is designed for a range of 300 km and integrates 350 kW DC fast charging, which allows charging from 10% to 80% in about 20 minutes.
Hyundai has previously confirmed that it will electric vehicle manufacturing in the United States starting in 2022, although one report suggests the first reports could be for Genesis premium brand.
