Hyundai Ioniq 6 N Could Be a Cheap Taycan


High performance Hyundai Ioniq 5N Electric vehicles (EVs) will have a slimmer and more elegant companion.

The Ioniq 6 may not be far off as it will go into production in 2022.

It’s no secret that Hyundai has been testing a high-performance version of its polarizing ‘streamliner’ electric car. The company has invited the media to take it for a test drive. RN22e In 2022, a ‘mobile lab’ equipped with an engine based on the Ioniq 6.

The production version of the Ioniq 6 N will likely use the dual-motor all-wheel-drive system from the Ioniq 5 N.

The system produces a total of 448kW of power and 740Nm of torque, which can be increased to 478kW and 770Nm in N Grin Boost mode.

The claimed 0-100km/h acceleration time is 3.5 seconds or 3.4 seconds with N Grin Boost activated, while the Ioniq 5 N reaches a top speed of 260km/h.

The dual-motor powertrain is powered by an 84kWh lithium-ion battery, which has a WLTP range of 448km.

Since the Ioniq 6 has a lower and slimmer body, the N version could improve that range.

The Ioniq 5 N was developed for more than just track-based thrills, and we expect the Ioniq 6 N to share plenty of performance software and hardware aimed at improving track performance and driver engagement.

These include paddle shifters that let you switch between simulated gears; N-Torque Distribution, which lets you configure the car to send 100 percent of torque to the rear wheels; N-Pedal, which is a regenerative braking function for use on the track; and a drift mode called N-Torque Optimization.

The Ioniq 5 N also features simulated engine and exhaust sounds that can be heard both inside and outside the car, while the body is more reinforced than the regular Ioniq 5 and has a higher steering ratio.
