This week’s reveal of the Chevy Blazer EV 2024 also includes confirmation that GM is working “Purpose-built” Electric Pursuit Police Vehicle (PPV) model based on the performance version Blazer EV SS. At a slightly larger size than the Mach-E or Model Y, the Blazer can achieve a preliminary range of up to 320 miles, which could score well for what patrols need to use electricity.

While not much is known about its brand, product or sales model, the move shows that VW Group sees the Scout as a huge opportunity, not a niche endeavor. As part of the announcement, VW confirmed that across its brands it will offer 25 battery electric vehicle models in the US by 2030.
