Huge crater in the Sun emits bright auroras as far as New York when a solar storm is about to hit

Just a few days ago, a CME grazed the Earth with a ripple effect, and its presence alone caused auroras in the Arctic Circle. In addition, astrophysicists have detected the Sun during sunrise at higher altitudes, which could have disastrous consequences in the near future. Of more pressing concern, however, is that a large hole has been observed in the sun’s surface, a hole that could lead to a dangerous solar storm as well as stunning auroras.

According to one report by the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), a coronal hole has been observed in the Sun’s magnetic field that can cause a Sun storm tomorrow, March 24. This solar storm is expected to bring a Category G2 . hurricane geomagnetic stormas reported by NOAA.

Beautiful aurora to be seen

While geomagnetic storms can disturb the Earth’s magnetic field lines and even disrupt power grids and communications networks, they also lead to auroras, trails Beautiful blue light in the sky. Although the aurora usually occurs in the lower polar regions, this coronal hole can cause the aurora to be seen globally. According to spaceweather.com, previous cases of coronal holes have resulted in auroras being seen in areas as far away as New York and Idaho.

Increase solar activity

The Sun entered its 25th solar cycle in 2019 and is expected to peak in July 2025. And this is the main reason why the Sun is suddenly so fierce. Earth is in for a rough ride. If the Earth were to suffer a G5-class solar storm, as predicted by observing increasing sunspots, it could not only damage satellites and disrupt wireless communications such as internet services, cellular networks and GPS, but can also cause grid failures and even disrupt electronic devices such as pacemakers on Earth.
