How to watch the Oscars 2023

In 2023, the The Oscars are still one of the most prestigious American film awards, although viewership drops. WIRED’s extensive coverage of nominated films includes thoughtful analysis of Everything Anywhere All At Once, Black Panther: Wakanda foreverAnd taras well as behind-the-scenes looks at how the movies achieve it magic special effects.

If you’re watching the Oscars from the comfort of your living room, make sure you have plenty of snacks, a few drinks in the fridge, and a warm blanket nearby. (For those of you who often oversleep on the couch and can use some tips to stay awake until the Best Picture awards, check out this useful post.) Whether you have cable access or not, we’ve put together a list of the best ways to watch the Oscars 2023 live and how to stream the awards show after it airs.

How to watch the Oscars

The 2023 Oscars ceremony will be streamed live from the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on March 12 at 8 p.m. Eastern on ABC. After a trial with multiple hosts last year, late-night talk show comedian Jimmy Kimmel returns as the sole host to lead the 95th Academy Awards. If you subscribed to cable including ABC, you can watch the Oscars 2023 on your TV, on ABC.comor through ABC app on your smartphone.

Audiences who often watch shows on ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX might consider investing around $60 in a television antenna receive radio channels. Subject to local availability, you may be able to stream the awards ceremony live on your ABC affiliate without registration.

Another surefire option to watch the 95th Academy Awards presentation live without cable is to use a live TV subscription service like YouTube TV, FuboTVor Hulu + live TV. All three options offer a free trial of at least a week for new users. The standard monthly rate for YouTube TV is $65 for over 100 channels, and new members now get three months of intro for $55 per month. FuboTV also has over 100 channels and costs $75 a month.

I would recommend Hulu + Live TV to anyone who watches a lot of on-demand entertainment along with their live TV viewing. The service has about 85 channels. What Hulu + Live TV lacks in obscure channels you’ll probably never watch, makes up for it with ad-supported access to Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu for $70 a month. For an extra $13 a month, this plan can be upgraded to include Disney+ and Hulu with no ads.

an additional American Sign Language live feed for the 95th Academy Awards will be streamed on Oscar’s YouTube channel.

Ready to wait to see it until after the awards ceremony is broadcast? The Oscars are expected to come to Hulu for on-demand streaming the next day.

Which movie is nominated?

Directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, Everything Anywhere All At Once has the most potential chances to win at the 95th Academy Awards, earning a total of 11 nominations, including: Best Picture, Director, Music, Costume Design, and Actress main.
