Honda’s best selling car is back and bigger than ever in the form of 2023 Honda CR-FIRE. The compact SUV has become the norm for its segment with its powerful blend of good driving dynamics and great practicality. We can’t share impressions of how the new model performs (check back later this month), but even testing it stationary and checking the spec sheet it seems to give a series of improvements over its already solid predecessor.
Among the big improvements is it’s bigger. It’s the biggest CR-V not yet, and that is reflected in a very spacious interior with maximum cargo space that is once again at the top of the class. It also has a massively improved infotainment system, and the hybrid powertrain has been updated to deliver more torque. We also noticed significantly improved styling.
Even so, the new CR-V 2023 is entering an extremely competitive segment, and while it’s smartly aiming at the heart of the market, it doesn’t offer any branching into niches. variety has sprung up in recent years. How is the interior and technology in the CR-V?
With a brand new exterior comes a brand new interior. Or at least, new to the CR-V. If you were in a new CivicIts layout and design will look extremely Acquainted. The dashboard is also low, supporting both visibility and creating a sense of spaciousness in the cabin. Honda hasn’t released passenger specifications yet, but sitting in the SUV’s cabin, it certainly seems more spacious and comfortable. Front passengers have plenty of leg, knee and shoulder room. The chief’s room is not spacious, but is still enough for most people to feel completely comfortable. The front seats themselves aren’t huge, but they do have thick padding and a welcome amount of side padding. There’s a good amount of adjustment, so a comfortable sitting position should be easy to find. That’s not always the case on the CR-V.
However, the rear seats are the real showcase. They’re a bit stiffer and flatter than the ones in the front, but they’re comfortable enough and have great space. There’s plenty of room in all directions, especially for the legs. There’s also plenty of space under the front seats for leg room, effectively adding space and allowing rear occupants to really stretch out. The back seat back can also recline up to 10 degrees. As such, passengers can comfortably spend many hours behind the new CR-V.
Goods space is now the same regardless of the powertrain. The official figure of 36.3 cubic feet is basically between the old petrol-only and hybrid specs, meaning the new CR-V has more and less cargo space than before. In most cases it operates as a series hybrid with the gas engine generating electricity and the larger of the two spinning the wheels. There are a number of situations where a gasoline engine can provide direct drive power. Combined power is 204 horsepower and 247 pound-feet of torque. That’s 8 hp less than the 212 hp listed before CR-V Hybrid, but add 15 pound-feet of torque. Again, energy saving for the new model has not been announced, but it should be similar, possibly more than the 38 mpg combined of the previous model.
What does the CR-V like to drive?

How much is the CR-V 2023?
Pricing has yet to be announced for the CR-V. We expect the underlying price to rise from the current pattern’s starting level of $28,045.
