Honda Civic Hybrid, Lucid in Formula E, Uber needs EV: Car News Today
Formula E is running with the Lucid engine. Uber is looking for a roomy, lower-performance EV for its ride-hailing service. And the Civic Hybrid is the next product in Honda’s transition to hybrid. This and more, here at Green Car Reports.
Honda has confirmed that Civic Hybrid launched in sedan and hatchback form in 2024—and to compete, look for combined fuel economy in the 50 mpg range. And aside from the CR-V Fuel Cell, the brand has no plans to offer a plug-in hybrid vehicle anytime soon.
Gen 3 racing car for Formula E takes technology from Lucid Air production. The race car’s front engine unit, which allows for much higher brake recovery, is essentially a downsized version of the engine in the Lucid Air—and in Formula E, it’s one of the keys to life. Racing this year becomes more interesting.
And Uber is said to be working with automakers on the design Electric vehicles exclusively for ride-hailing and delivery services. Most notably, such models can be optimized for lower speeds and even lower top speeds—to help cut costs.
