The second session of the January Keeneland All Age Horse Sale ended on January 12 with a bang Belgrade Carl and Yurie Pascarella asked for $700,000 to top the second session of the winter seed stock sale. Agent Jane Buchanan signs tickets for her 3-year-old son Spin hard , who aired in six lengths when it debuted on December 18 with the six-feather long maiden special weight at Fair Grounds & Slots.

Randy Bradshaw took delivery of the pony from Brookdale Sales at the 2020 Fasig-Tipton Selected Yearlings Show for $45,000, and campaigning for him to participate was just the beginning with trainer Brendan Walsh.
Buchanan commented: “He was a two-turned dark horse trained by Brendan Walsh who did an excellent job. “He’s a good coach to buy from.”
The foal will be sent to one of Motion’s divisions, either the Fair Hill Training Center in Maryland or Tampa Bay Downs or Palm Meadows Training Center in Florida.
Buchanan worked hard to find this pony to add to the barns of various clients.
“It’s tough buying a horse like this,” she said. “We tried to buy it all last year privately. Prices are high, but that’s what these horses (3-year-old ponies capable of spinning twice) are making right now.”

Bradshaw, who mainly buys salmon for the purpose of scouting, always has a backup plan if the 2-year-old sale can’t be bought.
“He’s done that before, taking horses to races and selling them at public auction, so he feels comfortable doing that,” says Franz.
The chestnut pony was bred in Kentucky by JR Ward Stables in addition to Miss Prytania (Eskenderea), an unarmed mare produced three runners and two winners. She has an interesting 2 year old Realistic jokes ready for this year. Larry Best purchased that young fish at weaning for $150,000 from Keeneland’s November 2020 Seed Sale. 2021’s pony Urge recently went through a November sale of Keeneland, selling for $28,000 to David Rodawalt.
Belgrade’s second dam is Brisquette , a student who won 3rd place 3rd created two students who won 3rd place in Total number of medals and Garden District .
Keeneland Numbers Keep Stable
“It was a really good day. Going into the second day of last year, we had two scatters at Paul Pompa and Sam-Son Ranch, which were big shoes that needed filling,” said Tony Lacy, Deputy Keeneland’s business president said. “We’ve maintained our average at $40,000 and are close to last year’s total. Stuart Morris, the dealer, consigned the top pony car of the day, an Uncle Mo’s pony off the coast of the Canada River. Nick de Meric contracted as Sand Hill Bloodstock to secure the pony offered as a Hip 472 to a customer for $310,000. The highest priced aspirational short film of the day, Hip 644, by Spinning candy , was purchased by the same organization for $160,000 from Paramount Sales.
“I think there’s a sense, there’s a sense of protection,” Lacy commented of the day’s brief longing activity. “It’s a sign of strength that people are protecting their preterm babies if they feel they will get better in September. Everyone says the babies are bringing in good money and people. buyers are satisfied with what they paid for. Overall there were no complaints from the seller and buyers were satisfied with what they received for what they paid for.”
Reiley McDonald’s Eaton Sales ended its second day of sales with $2,291,000 in sales for 18 pieces that sold for an average of $127,278 and became the session’s lead shipper. In total, Taylor Made Sales Agency still leads with total sales of $4,603,000 for 54 units sold.
Sand Hill Bloodstock purchased six short-term fingerlings with an average price of $169,167 and a total of $1,015,000 to be Wednesday’s top buyer. OXO Equine maintains its lead as a cumulative top buyer with $1,490,000 in revenue for six top buys.
