Among them there are Chevy Silverado EV. Some fleet sales have been made to companies like Hertz, but with the car rental company looking to get out of that difficult situation. Bad EV betthey are starting to sell some used electric pickup trucks. And if you’re in the market for one, you might be able to score a deal.
First discovered by Inside the tramHertz is selling the Silverado electric vehicle at a big discount. Rental giant initially planned to buy thousands of electric cars from GM as part of a major push to make its rental car fleet electric. Just over a year after announcing it would add 175,000 electric vehicles GM to its fleet by ’27, and some of the Silverado electric vehicles purchased during that push are selling for bargain prices.
You can find these Silverado EVs at Hertz Car Sales. There isn’t much for sale right now. A quick search will show you there are only 35 for sale nationwide. On the plus side, they all sell for the same price, between $63,000 and $64,000. And you can have any cut you want, as long as it’s 3WT or 4WT. And they all have low mileage.
The cheapest of them is one Silverado EV 4WT in Sacramento. With more than 16,000 miles, Hertz is selling it for $63,097; That same trim at the dealership could cost you $70,000 to $80,000 or more. Want one with lower miles? There is a 3WT in Torrance, California with only 4,772 miles. Hertz is selling it for $64,552. And before you skip the WT trim, remember, Chevy says this thing can still travel up to 450 miles and tow up to 12,500 pounds.
If you don’t want to buy a used electric truck that was previously leased, you can find a new Silverado EV for the same price or slightly less than these used vehicles. Some dealers are doubling down on discounts by including the EV tax credit — for which the Silverado EV qualifies — and their own rebates. Aaron Chevrolet of Lake Elsinore, California there’s a $15,120 rebate ($7,500 tax credit plus another $7,544 trade-in rebate) on each of the seven Silverado EV W/T trims on their lot. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that each of them meditated for more than 160 days. Chevrolet Chevrolet in Antioch, Illinois there is one Silverado EV 3WT for just $55,400 after a $13,500 discount from its $68,900 price tag.
So if you’re in the market, it comes down to which direction you want to go: lightly used pre-rental vehicles or brand new trucks that you can strike a deal on for they remain unused.
