Do you still have a few (or most) things left on your holiday shopping list? Or, you’re trying to plan when you can get that last grocer running for something. just in case?
Catering to delays, most grocery stores and retail chains will remain open on Christmas Eve, but will close early or have abbreviated hours – and will close on Christmas Day.
Walmart stores will close at 6 p.m. local time and Target will close at 8 p.m. local time. Drugstore chains like CVS and Walgreens will be open on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Many restaurants will also close early on Friday, as many are expected to close for Christmas.
This year, more stores transaction with delivery companies like Uber, DoorDash and Postmates to get your holiday gifts delivered to you within hours; offers services such as same-day delivery and in-store pickup.
But if you still need last-minute holiday items or have run out of something to make your holiday dinner, fret no more.

Retailers and other businesses, depending on the state, may have special rules and precautions in place due to COVID-19.

And if you happen to run out of wrapping paper or need to grab a last-minute item to put in your Christmas inventory, you might be in luck. Most retail chains and stores will open early on Friday.
But be aware – like grocery stores, most retail chains are also operating modified hours and will close early Friday and will remain closed through Christmas Day.
