DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Acura staged Its Integration Prototype at the Rolex 24 show in Daytona this weekend, inviting amateur and professional photographers alike to venture out to capture the ultimate inside thanks to the blazing Florida sun. The photos you’re looking at here are the ones we took at Rolex and they essentially reveal what the interior of the Acura Integra 2023 will look like. If you call back from the car’s initial revealAcura did not display photos of the Prototype’s interior.
However, before we go too deep, we can say that although the design seems to be final, some fine details are still a bit rough. Not all resins, surfaces, and badges look like the end result, so don’t expect everything you see here to go directly to the manufacturing process. That said, it’s still a great preview of an upcoming Integration that we weren’t expecting to get.
From what we can see here, the interior design seems to take a cue from the Integra’s background, possibly derived from sporty styling. Honda Civic Si. The photo was posted integrationforums.com showing the prototype’s dash before Acura’s representative covers the upper to hide it from view. In it, you can see the mesh air vent design that debuted on civicalthough with a different implementation here (that treatment runs the full width of the dash in Honda’s motobike). In addition, the infotainment touchscreen that protrudes from the dashboard is also in plain view.
The seats look like Acura’s latest chair style instead of Civic Si and they even come in a neat black and white two-tone design. What seems like a direct turn of the steering wheel of the Civic is the steering wheel, which has Acura badging and what looks like the rough outline of the A-Spec badging for Integration duties. We’ll note that this likely means the Integration will be offered in an A-Spec version, like every other new Acura on sale today. The original integration was never sold as an A-Spec in the US, but RSX Type WILL (named Integra outside the US) is available in the A-Spec version.
Another difference between the interior of the Integra seen here compared to the Civic is the new door panel design. However, very little has changed in the back seat as it has the same drop-down armrest and a pair of USB ports for the rear occupants. Significantly longer Integration Prototype more than a Civic Hatchback, but we didn’t see any significant increase in back-end utility. That extra usability can come through the hatch instead, but that’s an area of the car that wasn’t visible when we tried to photograph it.
