It all starts with the new Career Builder. For new players or anyone looking for a fresh start, Career Builder will help you set up the necessary gear to begin your rise through the ranks of crime across Los Santos and Blaine County.
You start by choosing one of four criminal career paths in GTA Online: Executive, Gunner, Nightclub Owner or Racer. From there, you’ll get GTA $4,000,000 awesome to invest in crafting your nefarious business, starting with business assets, vehicles and weapons – with enough replacement money for some upgrades and maybe a little left over.
Once you’re comfortable with your options, head straight to the streets of Los Santos to take on missions and set up your business. Of course, you can expand your business at any time and take on new careers as you grow the city’s criminal food chain.

Continue your journey on PlayStation 5
If you’ve worked harder to build your career than previous generations, continuing your journey on PlayStation 5 is easy. If you already have a Rockstar Games Social Club account, you’ll be able to migrate your GTA Online character progression from the previous-gen console to the PS5 when you upload the game. This one-time move includes any Characters, GTA$, Progressions, Stats, Vehicles, Attributes, Weapons, Clothing, and Player-Created Jobs***.
PS4 and Xbox One players will be able to transfer both their existing GTAV Story Mode and GTA Online characters and progress to PS5 with a single move.
Players can transfer their Story Mode progress by uploading a save to the Rockstar Gaming Social Club. To start this process, enter GTAV on your existing PS4 account and go to the Games tab of the Pause Menu. From there, select the Upload Save Game option. Please note, you can only store one game save per platform at a time, and saves will remain available for download for 90 days.
