Golovkin: I don’t hate Canelo

Gennadiy Golovkin responded to comment from Canelo Alvarez that the third fight between them was “personal”.

The two opponents, who have fought twice, are expected to rematch again in September. To do that, Golovkin will have to beat Ryota Murata on April 9 in a middleweight unification and Canelo will have to beat WBA light-heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol on May 7.

At the launch press conference for Canelo’s next game, the Mexican said the trio’s fight against ‘GGG’ was personal and said the Kazakhs “talk a lot of things” and “talk nonsense.” .

In an interview this week, Ariel Helwani asked Golovkin about what was said.

“If he believes something has been said and he believes it to be personal, where has he been all these years? It’s been three or four years,” said Golovkin.

The current IBF middleweight champion alluded to Canelo’s failed drug test in March 2018 that had clenbuterol levels. The news comes just two months before Golovkin faces him in a rematch from their 2017 in which he lost points.

“I didn’t say anything bad,” Golovkin said. “Anything that has been said is tied to scandals and he is the cause of those scandals. If he believes everyone [are] That bullshit is the whole world using arguments, and everything is provable.

“For him to start giving interviews right now and framing it this way, I would say a bit low, it sucks. That is indecent behaviour. I don’t have any hate. I’m not talking about him at all, and he hasn’t been on my radar for quite some time now. Whatever has been said in the past has been said in relation to the events that took place and there are arguments that you cannot argue with. “
