God of War system requirements and detailed PC features: DLSS, ultra-wide support, visual enhancements and more
Front God of War coming to PC on January 14th, a Nvidia blog post gave the improvements you can expect from the port, as well as the PC system requirements. To be fair, this seems like a pretty comprehensive endeavor, combining expected tweaks like support for 21:9 ultra-wide screens with performance enhancements. Nvidia DLSS upgrades and even some general graphics upgrades. There’s also a trailer for the PC’s features.
Nvidia GPU holders are the biggest winners here: DLSS, new from patched into PlayStation Horizon Zero Dawn alumnus, will require a GeForce RTX card in exchange for the extra frames per second through AI-powered upscaling and anti-aliasing. God of War will also take advantage of Nvidia Reflex on PC, potentially reducing input lag, though luckily you won’t need to. latest and best graphics card for it. Any Nvidia model from the GTX 900 series onwards can enable Reflection.
For those graphics tweaks, Nvidia’s post lists “higher resolution shading, improved screen-spatial reflections, Ambient Ground Truth enhancement (GTAO) and Visual Effects.” screen-space orientation (SSDO), more detailed content, and higher display resolution” as improved PCs to expect. I believe these are mostly brand new changes, rather than carried over from the polished PS5 version. Either way, you’ll be able to enjoy it all happening with Environmental Truths with unlimited frame rates on PC.
There’s also the aforementioned 21:9 support, HDR support on compatible displays, and “powerful” mouse/keyboard and controller input customization. Overall, that’s not a bad point in terms of PC features, and DLSS in particular is potentially useful if you try running God of War in 4K or ultra-wide resolution.

It all seems manageable, with the relatively old GTX 1060 giving the recommended 1080p spec and the RTX 2070 giving 60 fps at 1440p. We’ll see for ourselves how God of War runs on PC when it releases on January 14.
