Polestar, which has close ties to Volvo, is aiming to go its separate ways in the near future with its own 800 volt electric motor, battery and architecture. With the Polestar 3, 4 and 5, the company is planning to target the Porsche Cayenne, Macan and Taycan respectively.

And on Friday, GM confirmed that two new electric vehicle models will be aimed at early customers: 2022 GMC Hummer EV and BrightDrop EV600 electric car delivery. Both are built on the company’s electric vehicle-specific Ultium architecture.
