These days, the Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus seems to be working in their eyeballs. This tiny boutique maker is still developing the Le Mans Hypercar 007, as well as a road version, the GT3-legal 004 in street, club and competitive, off-road versions’Start up’ in the two-door, four-door and hydrogen-powered variants, and the 008, is a Boot with the 004 fuselage taped to the top. That’s somehow three different race cars in three different areas, plus six different street-like variants. No other sports car company is silly enough to try that.

So when the tiny shop in Sleepy Hollow, New York said it was launching its third LMH to race at Le Mans in three months, you could certainly make me skeptical. According to team founder Jim Glickenhaus, he’s contacted an existing sports car fleet interested in running one more Hypercar 007 on June 11 in France, bringing the total to three from just two Toyotas and an old Alpine.

As it happened, when the roster for Le Mans was reopened on Monday after withdrawing from Russia-backed G-Drive RacingJim tweeted that he wanted to run a third entry (below).

Glickenhaus later told Motorsport.com what happened next. “They are people I know and they contacted me after we made that tweet,” Glickenhaus said. “I am not saying we have an agreement, even though it has been agreed in principle, or even if ACO will accept another car from us, but we are working hard. I think we have a chance to put it together.

Glickenhaus and the unnamed team have until 3pm Central European Time on Wednesday to complete their immigration formalities to hopefully be accepted. Then the real work begins.

We don’t have three cars right now, but we can make that happen by working 24/7 for three months,“Jim admitted.

Glickenhaus has contracted with Joest Racing to run the race’s operations, so having them take part in three cars at Le Mans is not out of the question for them. That said, putting together a technologically advanced car like the Le Mans Hypercar within three months and hoping that it will be race-ready is an epic task. Especially considering Glickenhaus is supposed to run the entire WEC season this year, which means 1000 Miles of Sebring and 6 Hours Spa between now and June. Admittedly those races will only be run with a single 007, so the rest of the team can focus on preparing for the second leg and building out the third leg for the big race next month. Six.

Is it possible? Who knows, but I really hope it happens, because without the launch of this year’s Peugeot Hypercar at Le Mansthe top class will need all the help it can get.
