Glenn Allerton
“I am extremely excited and also grateful for the new opportunity with GT Racing Team, with the help of Trevor (Groeneveld) and his team we were able to put together a lot of pieces from my old team and some exciting new prospects in the future.
“I also want to thank the Next Generation Team for being so helpful during this transition and our loyal sponsors of Spectra oil, Bitubo suspension, Motoverde products and Steve Cramer, who are still continue to be a part of our journey. Also, my personal sponsors, Di Candi lo Steel City, for always standing by my side.
“I’m super excited to put the GT team bike on the podium and with our home race so close, it couldn’t have come at a better time.
“In addition, I would also like to welcome a new partner to the MacArthur BMW Motorrad team. They are the local agent for me from the MacArthur area and with them on board I couldn’t be happier.“
Trevor Groeneveld
“I’ve been around superbikes for a few years doing track days and some club racing. It’s a sport I really enjoy. I’ve also been helping Glenn over the past few years as a personal sponsor and as part of the old team. When given the opportunity to be a team owner, it’s hard to turn down.
“Looking ahead, the part of the puzzle that doesn’t concern me is Glenn’s ability to fight for the top spot every time he puts on his helmet. The challenge for this team is to make sure we give him the right support and equipment to do the job and we are all 100% committed.”
The second round of the 2023 Australian Superbike Championship will be held over two evenings at Sydney Motorsport Park, Friday 24 March and Saturday 25 March. Allerton advanced to this second round with an equal score. . Full fixtures, qualifiers and races below. The event will be live on TV on Saturday nights on SBS Viceland, with the usual Sunday ASBK programming from 13:00 including replays from the weekend action.
