Get Paid to Visit Garden Centers This Christmas


An online gardening platform is looking to hire a team of 10 people from different regions across the UK to serve as ‘Christmas Center Critics’, visiting horticultural centers in a job role worth £50/hour.

Whatshed.co.uk are hiring for the role after a survey of more than 2,000 Britons revealed that visiting garden centers is a popular Christmas tradition, with two-thirds (66%) saying they visit once every year during the festival period. Additionally, three in ten (31%) households buy their plants from their local garden center, and nearly half (48%) buy decorations from there.

Critics’ feedback will be used to help define the UK’s ultimate Christmas garden centerpiece. Groups of 10 will be asked to rate garden centers out of 10 in several categories, including the quality of the Christmas displays and decorations, festive food and drink, and accessibility.

Candidates will have to be present to visit up to 10 garden centers from December 13 to December 24. Anyone can participate in the role, as long as they are over 18 years of age, have full permits UK driver, passionate about gardening and loves Christmas.

Applications for ‘Christmas Center Critics’ can Submit here by December 10.

Members of the public can also nominate their local center for inclusion in the national rankings on the same page. WhatShed will review all entries to make sure they meet the Christmas criteria before they appear on the map.

Successful applicants must be at another horticulture center in their area at least twice a week, making the role perfect for students, retirees, those out of work or currently on leave. employment from a full-time position.

The job offer states that the selected candidates will have their travel expenses covered, however, accommodation will not be covered if they decide to stay in certain locations. Critics will only be paid to spend two hours at each garden center.
