Personally, I don’t think the current fuel price crisis is due to Mann. There are other influential players, though Michael Mann’s fearsome hockey stick may have played an important role in the development of the climate crisis story.
The current gasoline supply shortage is a clear direct consequence of President Biden’s hostility to fossil fuels. Biden canceled pipeline and drilling rental for sale limited supply and hindered competition from new entrants, which must have contributed to today’s drop in petrol pump prices.
But where did Biden get the inspiration for such reckless policies? Why is there significant public support for harsh restrictions on fossil fuel production and use, despite the enormous cost and inconvenience?
Perhaps if Mann hadn’t made such an effort to “hide the decline“, Fewer people today would suffer extreme fuel poverty. And perhaps this year more Americans can afford to take their families on vacation without the stress of the gas bills they will face.
