Frogun, a warm and fuzzy 3D platformer, coming in August
Why yes, there is *yes* a Nintendo Switch version
As you may have seen in Summer game streamthere are way too many frog games to watch this year (arguably a must-have!), but one of them, above all, doesn’t leave my sight. Frogun is a collectible 3D platformer game inspired by the Nintendo 64 and PS1 eras, and its protagonist, Renata, wields a frog that is also a “gun”.
It’s a genre close to my heart, with a cute style, and I’m all about it.
After doing healthy rounds and recently shared a demo on SteamMolegato developers are currently on the property. Frogun will release on August 2, 2022 on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. That’s… pretty soon!
If you are interested in a real copy, there is good news. During its LRG3 rolloutLimited Run Games announced the physical release of Frogun for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation. There’s nothing else to say at this point other than “it’s happening.”
“The people at Top Hat Studios and I have worked hard to perfect the game development process, paying particular attention to all the feedback we received from Steam Next Fest,” tell the developer. “Looking back at the start of the project, it seems to have only been about a year and a half. It was a lot of work, a lot of shared experiences and a lot of new friends made along the way! I’ve learned a lot during this time, and humbly hope that the game is everything you’ve come to expect. “
Collect them all
“From so many optional collections, to hidden shortcuts, cute enemies, and goofy dialogue, Frogun Much more than what I was aiming for at the beginning. “
With a frog grappling mechanic at the heart of the game, I’m sure there will be plenty of sneaky shortcuts and hidden items to find. With the coins you pick up, you’ll be able to exchange them for “hats, entry points, behind-the-scenes photos of concept art and more.”
There are also rewards for finding things that I love. If you complete 100% of the game, you will get “pro time trial mode” with “time pro” to subvert.
I don’t always get to work on collecting every last bit of knick-knacks in these games, but if I stick around long enough, it becomes my inevitable fate. After playing recently and finished Ape Escape first (it’s available on PS4 and PS5), I don’t want to lose this feeling.
