Fox’s Tucker Carlson Gets Exclusive Access To Kyle Rittenhouse And His Security Team During The Trial

Fox’s biggest star, Tucker Carlson, secured exclusive access to Rittenhouse and members of his security team throughout the trial. The arrangement was not disclosed until a not guilty verdict was delivered on Friday.

Carlson shared a promotional video Friday night showing his crew filming with Rittenhouse during the test, which featured the 18-year-old in a fully empathetic light.

The crew was in an SUV with Rittenhouse shortly after the verdict was announced. An off-camera staff can be heard asking “How are you feeling?” Rittenhouse replied, “The jury made the correct judgment. It is not illegal to defend yourself. And I believe they made the correct judgment.”

Fox announced that Carlson “will do an exclusive interview” with Rittenhouse, with a portion airing Monday night, “followed by a documentary by Tucker Carlson Originals on Fox Nation in December.”

So the behind-the-scenes footage is for the documentary, and the whole tragedy is being used to boost subscriptions to Fox’s streaming service.

CNN’s Chris Cuomo asked Rittenhouse attorney Mark Richards about the Carlson ad Friday night. Question: Why is Fox allowed to embed?

“I don’t approve of that. I threw them out of the room a few times,” Richards replied. The attorney said he did not object to Fox specifically; he objected to any television crew presence. Still, he says, crowd-funded defense: “People who raise funds to pay professionals and pay attorneys are trying to raise funds, and that’s part of it.”

In a statement, Justin Wells, senior executive producer of Tucker Carlson Tonight and vice president of Tucker Carlson Digital Products, said Saturday that “both FOX News Channel’s Tucker Carlson Tonight and FOX’s Tucker Carlson Originals Nation did not pay for any access, filming rights, legal fees, or make any other payments during the production of the Kyle Rittenhouse trial episode.”

He added that portions of the interview will air on Fox News Channel at 8 p.m. ET Monday and release on FOX Nation in December.

This is bigger than Tucker

The Fox news on Friday afternoon was a lengthy performance of pro-gun and anti-media ballads. A banner on “The Five” said: “VEHICLES CONTINUE TO SAVE RITTENHOUSE AFTER VERDICT”. Co-host Jesse Watters insists “the media hates the trials because they can’t control the trials. The media can control pretty much anything they want in this country, but a trial. is isolation.”

Imagine: What would Watters say if Rittenhouse was convicted?

Later in the day, Laura Ingraham spoke on the phone with Donald Trump about the ruling. Trump released a statement celebrating the results. “This is a young man who should not have been prosecuted,” Trump told Ingraham while criticizing prosecutors. “I think the judge may have ended the case early, frankly,” Trump added.

In the future, will Ingraham, Carlson, and other GOP media stars simply portray Rittenhouse as a scapegoat and falsely claim that he was being manipulated by the “media”? Or will the message be vigilance against the enemies of freedom who are heroes?

I’m afraid we already know the answer.
